LEGO 75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack LEGO Audio & Braille Building Instructions for the LEGO Star Wars set "501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack". Build your own 501st Clone Troopers unit and get ready for action! Kit out a 501st Officer, a 501st Clone Specialist, and two 501st Heavy Troopers with a blaster pistol, blaster rifle and blasters. Command a member of your unit to operate the AV-7 anti-vehicle cannon. Aim the cannon and fire the projectile at enemy forces. You must win the latest battle in The Clone Wars. The box cover shows a battle scene on planet Yerbana, one of the sites of the Clone Wars, with the skyline of one of the planet's cities as well as a mountain mass are visible in the foggy background. Yerbana has a breathable atmosphere as well as oceans and mountains, this means it is a planet covered in green vegetation. Our unit is therefore fighting on green grass. The AV-7 anti-vehicle cannon is placed in the middle of the battlefield. One of the Heavy Troopers is on the operator stand, he just fired the cannon's shooter, and the missile is flying in mid-air towards the right top corner of the box cover. The Officer, Clone Specialist and the second Heavy Trooper are on the ground, surrounding the cannon. The Clone Specialist's blaster rifle as well as the Heavy Trooper's blaster are firing, so enemies must be close. The Officer is hanging back a bit, keeping an overview of the situation. At the bottom right edge of the box cover, there are detailed portraits of all four Minifigures. In the bottom left corner there is a logo for the 20th anniversary of the Clone Wars. Let's start building! Open the box. This can be tricky; ask someone to help you! The box contains 1 booklet with visual building instructions and 3 bags (one smaller bag and two larger bags). Carefully open the bags. Before you start building, ask a sighted person to help you sort the pieces by color. This makes finding the correct pieces even easier! One more note before we start: The four Minifigures included in this set have identical shapes and wear almost identical uniforms. The differentiating details in their prints are rather minor; even to the seeing eye they are hard to identify. This means that if you want, you can combine any pair of legs with any torso and helmet and you will still be creating authentic Star Wars uniforms. If you want to make absolutely sure that you are using the correct pieces, ask a sighted person for help. But beware: it might take them a while to figure out the differences and find the correct pieces. First, we will build the two 501st Heavy Trooper Minifigures. We will start with detailed instructions for one Heavy Trooper. Since they are, in fact, identical you can either decide to build them both at the same time, or one after the other. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 white and black upper part of the body, and 1 white pair of legs. Put the upper part of the body on the legs. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 black top angle plate 1x2 - 1x2 with top hole and 1 side knob, and 1 nougat brown Minifigure head. (All Minifigure heads in this set are identical.) Put the hole of the angle plate around the neck, side plate with 1 knob to the back and hanging down. Put the Minifigure head on the body. The head is printed with a grim-looking face. The eyebrows are drawn together and the Trooper looks like he's ready for anything. Find 1 white flat tile 1x1. (This piece is printed.) Mount it upright on the knob at the back of the Minifigure. The tile is printed with the Emblem of the Galactic Republic. It is a black and white insignia that has an eight-rayed stellar symbol in its center surrounded by a circle made up of dashed lines. If you want to confirm the correct orientation of the print, ask a sighted person for help. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 white 501st uniform helmet, (All four helmets have the same shape. The prints on the helmets for the Heavy Troopers are ever so slightly different than the ones for the Officer and the Clone Specialist. Pick any helmet, or ask a sighted person to help you identify the correct helmet.) and 1 bright blue 501st helmet visor. (This piece is like a squared visor with top and side screens, but the top screen is cut off at the front. Do not confuse it with the microbinoculars which is a white and rather thin helmet accessory.) Snap the two small bumps on the helmet visor into the two notches on the helmet. Put the helmet on the head. You can move the visor up and down. Now, let's assemble the blaster. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 black mini space gun with ribbed stock and 2 knobs, (There are three different types of pistols or guns in this set. This is a medium-sized one.) and 1 black pair of Minifigure binoculars. Put the 2 thicker ends of the binoculars on the 2 knobs of the pistol. Snap the short shaft of the blaster into the Heavy Trooper's right hand. The first 501st Heavy Trooper Minifigure is done! Great job! The uniforms of the Heavy Troopers are printed with intricate details. The base color of the uniform is white. The Troopers are equipped with white chest plates with blue decoration, a grey ammunition belt, a white general tool belt, white and blue kneepads and some minor grey, black and blue lines and details all around. Their helmets have black eye slits and 2 decorative vertical blue lines with black and grey linings that start at the top of the helmet and flow into one blue vertical line running down at the front of the helmet. All helmets have 3 breathing valves at the bottom, grey ventilation slits on the sides and grey areas around the cheeks. The Heavy Troopers wear white backpacks that have the Emblem of the Galactic Republic on them. They are ready for battle. Now, let's build the second 501st Heavy Trooper. Continue for detailed instructions, or jump to the next section if you have already built the second Trooper. Collect the following 9 pieces: 1 white and black upper part of the body, 1 white pair of legs, 1 nougat brown Minifigure head, 1 white flat tile 1x1, 1 black top angle plate 1x1 - 1x1 with top hole and 1 side knob, 1 black mini space pistol with ribbed stock and 2 knobs, 1 black pair of Minifigure binoculars, 1 white 501st uniform helmet, and 1 bright blue 501st helmet visor. Put the upper part of the body on the legs. Put the hole of the angled plate around the neck, side knob to the back, and side plate extending downwards. Put the head on the neck. Put the thicker ends of the binoculars on the 2 knobs of the space pistol. Snap the handle of the blaster into the right hand of the Minifigure. Snap the helmet visor onto the helmet. Put the helmet on the head. Both 501st Heavy Trooper Minifigures are Finished! Great job! Now, we build the 501st Clone Specialist Minifigure. Collect the following 3 pieces: 1 nougat brown Minifigure head, 1 white pair of legs, and 1 white, bright blue and black upper part of the body. Assemble the Minifigure: put the upper part of the body on the legs, and put the head on top. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 white 501st uniform helmet, (The two remaining helmets are identical) and 1 white 501st helmet visor. (This is a flat white piece that has a round helmet recess.) Snap the microbinoculars onto the helmet. Put the helmet on the head. Next, let's assemble the blaster rifle. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 black blaster rifle, (This is the largest gun of the three available sizes in this set.) and 1 black narrow tube with short shaft 2m. (2m means that this tube-shaped piece is about 2 knobs long.) Insert the thin long end of the blaster rifle into the thick end of the narrow tube. Snap the short bottom handle of the rifle into the Minifigure's right hand. The 501st Clone Specialist Minifigure is finished! Great job! His uniform is not unlike the Heavy Troopers' uniform, but he has blue sleeves, and the decorative lines on his helmet are blue only. He does not have an ammunition belt, but he does wear a white standard tool belt as well as kneepads and a white chest plate with blue decoration. On the left side of his chest plate, there are the two yellow markings typical for the Clone Specialists. Next, we will build the 501st Officer Minifigure. Collect the following 3 pieces: 1 nougat brown Minifigure head, 1 white and black upper part of the body, and 1 white pair of legs. Assemble the Minifigure: put the upper part of the body on the legs, and put the head on top. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 white 501st uniform helmet, and 1 bright blue small hammer-shaped antenna. The hammer-shaped antenna has a tiny nub on its bottom end. Insert it into the notch on the left side of the helmet. If done correctly, the hammer-shaped antenna extends towards the top, hammer head pointing to the right. Put the helmet on the head. Find 1 black small blaster pistol. (This is the smallest pistol available in this set.) Snap its bottom handle into the Minifigure's right hand. The 501st Officer Minifigure is finished! Great job! What makes his uniform special is that he wears a dark-blue waist cape that is printed on his torso and legs. His tool belt is blue, but the kneecaps and chest plate are identical to the Clone Specialist's uniform. His helmet, too, looks like the Clone Specialist's helmet. His antenna helps him communicate with other officers and keep the situation under control. Next, we will build the AV-7 anti-vehicle cannon. We will start with the base of the cannon. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 dark stone grey round plate 4x4 with middle hole, and 1 dark stone grey brick 2x4. Put the round plate 4x4 on the table. Make sure that its knobs form straight rows and columns in front of you. Put the brick 2x4 vertically centered on top of the previous piece. Find 4 medium stone grey bricks 1x2 with vertical shaft on short side. Put 1 vertically on the back knob of the rightmost column, shaft to the back, 1 knob overhanging to the back. Put 1 vertically in front of the previous piece, shaft to the front, 1 knob overhanging to the front. Repeat symmetrically on the leftmost column with the 2 remaining pieces. Note that we will be using the shafts of those 4 pieces to mount the 4 legs of the cannon at a later point. For now, let's continue building the base of the cannon. Find 2 maroon red plates 1x2. Put 1 horizontally centered on the second row from the back. If done correctly, there is 1 empty knob on the left and 1 empty knob on the right of this piece. Put the other one horizontally in front of the previous piece. Find 2 maroon red top angle plates 1x2 - 1x2 with 2 side knobs. Put 1 vertically to the left of the 2 previous pieces, 2 side knobs pointing to the left. Repeat symmetrically on the right, 2 side knobs to the right. Find 1 maroon red plate 1x4. Put it horizontally centered on the second row from the back. Find 2 silver metallic plates 1x1 with flat side tooth. Put 1 upright vertically on the back knob of the 2 side knobs pointing to the left, tooth pointing to the top. Put the other one upright vertically on the other left side knob, tooth to the top. Find 2 silver metallic plates 1x1 with flat side tooth. Repeat the previous step on the 2 right side knobs: mount these pieces upright on the 2 side knobs pointing to the right, teeth to the top. Find 2 medium stone grey curve bricks 1x1 with protruding plate 1x1. Hold 1 so that its protruding plate is pointing to the front. Mount it on the leftmost knob of the backmost row, protruding plate connecting to the row in front of that. Repeat symmetrically on the rightmost knob of the backmost row. Find 2 maroon red flat tiles 1x1. Put them on the protruding plates of the 2 previous pieces. Now, we build the operator platform. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 black grille tile 1x2, and 1 dark stone grey plate 2x6. Put the plate 2x6 horizontally on the table. Put the grille tile 1x1 horizontally on the frontmost row, starting from the right edge. Find 1 black panel element 1x2x1 with middle partition. Put it horizontally behind the previous piece, long side panel to the back. Mount the operator platform horizontally on the frontmost row of the structure, 1 row overhanging to the front, 2 columns (with grille tile and panel element) overhanging to the right. The operator will be able to either sit or stand on the platform using the partition of the panel element, so it's up to you how to operate this cannon later. But now, let's continue building! Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 black plate 1x2 with top clasp, and 1 black grille tile 1x2. Put the plate with clasp vertically to the left of the panel element with partition, clasp to the back. Make sure that you leave one knob empty in front of this piece. Put the grille tile vertically to the left of the previous piece. Collect the following 2 pieces: Another black plate 1x2 with top clasp, and another black grille tile 1x2. Put the grille tile vertically to the left of the previous piece. Put the plate with clasp vertically to the left of the previous piece, clasp to the back. Find 1 transparent round brick 2x2 with top cross hole. Before you mount it, flip the entire structure upside down. Mount the round brick 2x2 in the middle of the round 4x4 base plate of the structure. After that, flip the structure right side up again and put it aside for now. The brick we have just mounted will later serve as a stabilizer in case the legs of the cannon are lopsided or wobbly. Next, we will build the 4 legs of the anti-vehicle cannon. The 4 legs are identical. We will start with detailed instructions for one leg. You can either choose to build the other 3 legs in parallel already, or build one first and then the remaining three legs after that. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 medium stone grey plate 1x1 with horizontal side clasp, and 1 medium stone grey plate 1x2 with hinge stub on short side. Put the plate 1x2 vertically on the table, hinge stub to the front. Put the plate 1x1 with clasp on the back knob, clasp overhanging to the back. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 medium stone grey one-stepped curve tile 1x2x⅔, and 1 dark stone grey plate 1x2 with hinge fork on short end. Put the one-stepped curve tile 1x2x⅔ vertically on top of the 2 previous pieces, curve to the front. Hold the plate with hinge fork vertically, and snap the hinge fork on the hinge stub of the leg. Find 1 medium stone grey inverted roof tile 1x2, 45°. Hold it vertically; make sure the knobs are to the top and the higher part is pointing towards you. Mount its lower knob underneath the front knob of the previous piece. Note that the slanted side of the inverted roof tile will later be the foot that the cannon stands on. But for now, do not change the building orientation. Find 1 medium stone grey one-stepped curve tile 1x2x⅔. Put it vertically on the 2 previous pieces, curve to the back. The first leg is finished! Well done! If you have already built the other 3 legs alongside the first one, you can skip the next 7 sentences to go directly to the mounting instructions. If you haven't built the remaining three legs yet, you can continue with the next sentence. Collect the following 18 pieces: 3 medium stone grey plates 1x2 with hinge stub on short side, 3 medium stone grey inverted roof tiles 1x2, 45°, 6 medium stone grey one-stepped curve tiles 1x2x⅔, 3 dark stone grey plates 1x2 with hinge fork on short end, and 3 medium stone grey plates 1x1 with horizontal side clasp. With those bricks and pieces, build the remaining 3 legs. For detailed instructions, jump back to the beginning of this section starting with the sentence "Next, we will build the 4 legs of the anti-vehicle cannon". Relisten to the instructions to build the remaining 3 legs. The 4 legs of the anti-vehicle cannon are finished! Well done! Take one leg and hold it so that the slanted side of the inverted roof tile is towards the bottom. Snap the empty clasp of the leg on one of the shafts on the cannon body. Repeat with the other three legs: make sure that the slanted sides of the inverted roof tiles are at the bottom, and snap the clasps on the shafts of the cannon body. Once you have mounted all four legs, you can bend them down a little so the cannon rests on the slanted sides of the roof tiles. Adjust the height of the legs to your liking. Next, we will build the body of the cannon. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 medium stone grey bottom angle plate 1x1 - 1x2 with 2 side knobs, and 1 medium and dark stone grey brick 1x4 with spring shooting mechanism. (This piece seems like a regular 1x4 brick at first, but it is molded from separate top and bottom halves and has a thin hole running through the brick from one short end to the other.) Put the angle plate 1x1 on the table, 2 side knobs pointing towards you. Put the brick 1x4 horizontally on the single knob, 3 of its knobs overhanging to the left. A note for later: at the very end of building, we will insert the shooter missiles into the narrow hole running through this brick. Make sure to remember it for later. But for now, let's continue with building the body of the cannon. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 dark stone grey bottom angle plate 1x2 - 2x2 with 4 side knobs, and 1 medium stone grey bottom angle plate 1x1 - 1x2 with 2 side knobs. Put the larger angle plate (the one with 4 side knobs) horizontally underneath the 2 middle knobs of the previous piece, 4 side knobs to the front. Put the smaller angle plate underneath the leftmost knob of the brick 1x4, 2 side knobs to the front. If done correctly, the angle plates form a 2x8 surface of side knobs pointing to the front, and the brick 1x4 sits evenly on the row they form at the back. Find 2 bright yellow round plates 1x1 with through-hole. Put 1 on the rightmost knob at the top. Put the other one on the leftmost knob at the top. Find 1 medium stone grey top angle plate 1x2 - 2x4 with 8 side knobs. Put it horizontally centered between the 2 previous pieces, 8 side knobs pointing to the back. Collect the following 3 pieces: 2 medium stone grey bottom angle plates 1x1 - 1x2 with 2 side knobs, and 1 dark stone grey bottom angle plate 1x2 - 2x2 with 4 side knobs. Put 1 of the 2 smaller angle plates to the left of the previous piece, 2 side knobs to the back. Put the other smaller angle plate on the rightmost knob at the top, 2 side knobs again to the back. Put the larger angle plate horizontally between the 2 previous pieces, 4 side knobs to the back. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 maroon red brick 1x2, and 1 medium stone grey brick 1x1 with side cross hole. Put the brick 1x2 horizontally on the 2 rightmost knobs. Put the brick 1x1 to the left of the previous piece. Important: make sure that its cross hole is running from left to right. Find 1 medium stone grey brick 1x1 with side cross hole. Put it to the left of the previous piece. Make sure that its cross hole is also running from left to right. Remember the cross hole that is currently on the left side of this structure. We will later use it to mount a cross axle. Find 1 bright yellow round plate 1x1 with through-hole. Put it on top of the previous piece. Find 1 medium stone grey top angle plate 1x2 - 2x4 with 8 side knobs. Put it horizontally to the right of the previous piece, 8 side knobs to the front. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 medium stone grey one-stepped curve tile 1x2x⅔, and 1 medium stone grey flat tile 1x2. Put the one-stepped curve tile 1x2 horizontally to the right of the previous piece, curve to the right. It should be flush with the right edge of the cannon body. Put the flat tile 1x2 horizontally to the left of the previous piece. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 medium stone grey flat tile 2x2, and 1 black grille tile 1x2. Put the grille tile 1x2 upright horizontally on the left half of the topmost row of side knobs pointing to the front. Put the flat tile 1x2 upright below the previous piece. Find 1 medium stone grey right wedge plate 2x3 with 3 knobs. (Do not confuse it with the left wedge plate. To make sure you have the right wedge plate, hold the plate upright so that the 3 knobs are pointing to you. Make sure the knobs are on the left edge, and the slanted side is on the right. Now, the narrow end of the plate should be pointing to the top, and the wide end should be at the bottom. If this does not fit the plate you have in your hands, you have found the left wedge plate that you will need a bit later, and you need to look for a mirrored version of that plate.) Hold the right wedge plate upright so that the narrow end is pointing to the top and the 3 knobs are on the left edge. Mount it to the right of the 2 previous pieces in this orientation. Find 1 bright yellow round plate 1x1 with through-hole. Put it upright on the knob directly below the knobs of the previous piece. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 black grille tile 1x2, and 1 medium stone grey flat tile 2x2. First, turn the body structure from left to right. The 3 most recent pieces we have mounted should now be pointing to the back. Put the grille tile 1x2 upright horizontally on the left half of the topmost row of side knobs pointing to the front. Put the flat tile 2x2 upright below the previous piece. Find 1 medium stone grey left wedge plate 2x3 with 3 knobs. Flip it upright, make sure the narrow end is to the top and the 3 knobs are on the right edge and pointing towards you. Mount it to the left of the 2 previous pieces in this orientation. Find 1 bright yellow round plate 1x1 with through-hole. Put it upright on the knob directly below the knobs of the previous piece. Find 2 dark stone grey plates 1x2 with upward hook on long side. To mount them, you first need to lift the cannon body up and hold it in your hands. Make sure to keep the building orientation. Put 1 upright horizontally to the right of the previous piece, hook extending towards the bottom and pointing towards you. Repeat symmetrically at the back, hook extending to the bottom and pointing to the back. The body of the cannon is finished! Well done! It will be mounted by snapping the hooks into the 2 clasps on the cannon body. First, take the base of the cannon with legs and turn it so that the operator platform is pointing towards you and the curves of the 2 curved bricks 1x1 are towards the right. Now, turn the cannon body horizontally so that the 2 hooks are towards the bottom and on the right side. Then, snap the hooks into the 2 clasps on the top surface of the base of the cannon. If done correctly, the cross hole and shooter mechanism hole are both on the right side surface of the cannon body. Now, we will build the barrel of the cannon. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 black cross axle extension 2m, (again, 2m means that this piece is about 2 knobs long) and 1 dark stone grey shaft 2m with middle stop. Hold the cross axle extension horizontally and insert the shaft coming from the right. Half of the shaft will stick out towards the right. Find 1 bright red cross axle 8m. (This piece is a cross-shaped bar that is around 8 knobs long. Do not confuse it with the equally long bars that are smooth and have rounded ends.) Insert it into the cross axle extension coming from the left. Collect the following 2 pieces: 1 medium stone grey technic bushing 1m, (This is like a round tube that is about 1 knob long) and 1 medium stone grey cross bushing 1x½. (This is a flat round element with a cross hole) Put the technic bushing on the cross axle coming from the left and push it all the way in. This is a loose fit, so be careful that it does not slide off. Put the cross bushing 1x½ on the cross axle coming from the left and push it all the way in. Collect the following 2 pieces: another medium stone grey technic bushing 1m, and another medium stone grey cross bushing 1x½. Put the cross bushing 1x½ on the cross axle coming from the left and push it all the way in. Put the technic bushing on the cross axle coming from the left and push it all the way in. Again, this is a loose fit, make sure it does not slide off. Collect the following 2 pieces: yet another medium stone grey technic bushing 1m, and yet another medium stone grey cross bushing 1x½. Put the cross bushing on the cross axle and push it in. Put the technic bushing on the cross axle and push it in. Find 1 pale ocher yellow conical gear wheel with 12 teeth. Put it on the cross axle, teeth pointing to the right, and push it all the way in. The barrel of the cannon is finished! Well done! Insert the cross axle into the cross hole on the right side of the cannon body. Find 2 transparent red spring shooter missiles 8m. Insert the thinner end into the trigger hole of the ammunition magazine coming from the right (this means underneath the barrel of the cannon). Push it all the way in. Warning! Do not aim at eye or face! To trigger the shooter, gently adjust and hold the body of the cannon and push down on the missile bar on the left; the missile will readily shoot out towards the right. This might take some practice but you'll get there! The AV-7 anti-vehicle cannon is finished! Great job! Adjust the height of your cannon, load the spring-loaded shooter and conduct some last equipment checks before you go to the battlefield. You have actually finished building the entire set! Very well done, that was difficult! You are ready for the Clone Wars. Place one of your troopers on the operator platform, load your cannon and your blasters and go to war. May the force be with you! Enjoy!
