LEGO 71706 Cole's Speeder Car 

LEGO Audio & Braille Building Instructions for the LEGO Ninjago Legacy set "Cole's Speeder Car".

This set comes with Cole and his cool speeder car. We also will build Hausner and his hoverboard. Hausner is the bad guy in this set. The play is that Cole attempts to escape being trapped inside the dangerous video game Prime Empire. Cole needs to defeat Hausner and keep hold of the prized Key-Tana.

On the box cover Cole is sitting in his car being chased by Hausner on the hoverboard. Hausner tries to capture Cole with his chain and prime controller weapon.

Open the box. This can be tricky; ask someone to help you!

The box contains a booklet with visual building instructions, and unnumbered bags. A wagon bottom 4x10 with 4 side connectors also lies loose in the box.

Before you get started, ask a sighted person to help you sort the pieces by color. This way it will be easier for you to find the right pieces during building.

The very first thing we will build is Cole Minifigure.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black pair of legs,

and 1 black and dark stone grey upper part of the body.

Put the upper part of the body on top of the legs.

Cole is wearing a futuristic black ninja suit with an orange belt. The suit has metallic armour plates with a geometric pattern and glowing blue circles. Cole's right hand is dark grey, and his left hand is black.

Find 1 bright yellow head.

Put it on top. 

Cole is wearing a VR headset. His expression is determined.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white and transparent fluorescent green sword,

and 1 black and white ninja hood.

Put the ninja hood on top and clip the sword into Cole's left hand. This is the Key-Tana.

Cole is now finished and ready for battle. Good job!

Now, it's time for building Hausner Minifigure.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 flame yellowish orange pair of legs,

And 1 sand green and medium lilac upper part of the body.

Put the upper part of the body on top of the legs.

Hausner has sand green colored skin with red circles painted on it. Around his waist, there is a piece of cheese attached with tape. Hausner's pants also have two red circles painted on the knees and four metal protective plates attached. He has metallic shoes and he's wearing a black belt with a small rat head-shaped buckle. His hands are medium lilac.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black horn with shaft,

and 1 sand green and black rat-shaped head with VR headset.

Put the head on top and the shaft of the horn into the middle hole of the head.

Next, we will build Hausner's prime controller weapon.

Find 1 black and bright red small game controller. It has a stick with a cross button at one end and 3 buttons at the other end.

Find 1 transparent light blue blade with shaft.

Put the shaft into the end with the cross-shaped controller button.

The prime controller weapon is finished. Put it into Hausner's left hand.

Next, we will build his hoverboard.

Find 1 medium azure blue surf board with 2 knobs.

Find 1 transparent fluorescent green plate 1x2.

Now, turn the board knob-side down, flat end to the left. Put the plate, also knob-side down, horizontally on the leftmost edge.

Find 1 transparent fluorescent green plate 1x2.

Put it horizontally knob-side down to the right.

The hoverboard is now finished. Flip it right side up, pointy side to the left, and place Hausner on the 2 top knobs.

Now Hausner and all his equipment are finished and he is ready to go chase Cole. Very well done.

Next, we will build Cole's speeder car.

It is an open vehicle with swords on top, two cool big wheels at the back and pointy front bumpers in silver.

Find 1 black wagon bottom 4x10 with 4 side connectors.

Put it horizontally on the table with two connectors to the front.

Find 2 white plates 1x6.

Put one horizontally on the back row starting from the left. Put the second one symmetrically on the front row.

Find 1 white top angle plate 1x2 - 1x4 with 4 side knobs.

Put it vertically in the middle on the leftmost column, side knobs to the left.

Find 2 dark stone grey plates 1x4.

Put one horizontally on the back row starting from the right. Put the second one symmetrically on the front row. 

Find 1 dark stone grey top angle plate 1x2 - 1x4 with 4 side knobs.

Put it vertically in the middle on the rightmost column, side knobs to the right. 

Find 1 bright yellow flat tile 2x2.

Put it in the middle on the second and third column from the right.

Find 1 black triple-curved tile 3x4.

Put it on the rightmost edge, curve to the right.

This will be the front of the car. The bonnet is airbrushed with an orange dot pattern decoration as well as Cole's symbol, also in orange. It has some decals applied with Ninjago logos, a ninja head icon and the number 4.

Find 2 bright orange smooth roof tiles 1x2x⅔.

Put one horizontally to the left of the previous piece on the back row, slope to the back.  

Repeat symmetrically at the front, slope to the front.

Find 1 black and medium stone grey small steering wheel with plate 1x2.

Put it vertically to the left of the triple-curved tile 3x4, side plate to the right.

Find 1 bright orange brick 2x2.

Skip the leftmost column, and then put it on the middle 2 rows.

Find 2 transparent fluorescent green round bricks 1x1.

Careful! These pieces are put on in a special orientation.  

Put one upright on the backmost side knob on the left side of the structure.

Repeat symmetrically at the front. 

Now the car has 2 cool rear lights.

Find 1 white angle brick 4x4 with 2 cut-outs.

Now, turn the whole structure left to right. This means that the rear lights are now pointing to the right.

Put the angle brick on the rightmost two columns, shorter cut-out overhanging to the right.

Find 1 dark stone grey plate 1x2.

Put it vertically in the middle on the fourth column from the right of the higher part of the structure.

Find 1 white plate 1x2 with angled top handle.

Put it vertically to the left on the lower part of the structure, top handle to the right.

Find 2 white roof tiles 1x3, 25°.

Put one horizontally on the back row to the left of the angled brick with cut-outs, slope to the left.

Repeat symmetrically at the front.

Find 1 dark stone grey plate with bows 2x3 with 2 knobs.

Put it horizontally in the middle of the rightmost three columns, bows to the right.

Find 2 white plates 1x2 with vertical top clasp.

Put one vertically to the left, clasp to the back.

Repeat symmetrically at the front, clasp to the front.

Find 1 dark stone grey plate with bows 2x3 with 2 knobs.

Put it horizontally on top of the 2 previous pieces, bows to the right.

Next, we will build the 2 rear wheels.

Find 2 bright orange wide rims with hole and spokes.

Find 2 black off-road rubber tires with high profile. Careful!  There are two sizes of tires. The rear tires are the thick ones.

Put the tires on the rims.

Put the wheels on the two side connectors at the right end of the structure, spokes facing inward. This will be the rear end of the car.

Now, we will build the 2 front wheels.

Find 2 bright orange wide rims with hole and spokes.

Find 2 black wide rubber tires with profile. These tires are thin compared to the rear tires. 

Put the tires on the rims. 

Put the wheels on the two side connectors at the left side of the car, spokes facing inward.

Collect the following 3 pieces:

2 silver metallic nose cones 1x1,

and 1 bright orange flat tile 1x2.

Put the flat tile upright on the middle two side knobs on the left side of the structure.

Put the 2 cones upright on each side of the flat tile.

The cones create a strong bumper to crash through walls or obstacles.

Find 2 bright orange ninja swords.

Put the handles of the swords into the clasps on each side of the higher structure of the car, blades overhanging to the right.

Find 1 transparent fluorescent green chain, 16 knobs long, with two knobs.

Put one knob on one of the two remaining knobs between the two swords. Attach the other knob to the bottom of Hausner's prime controller weapon. 

The chain is how Hausner will grapple the car! One side attaches to his sword and the other to the car.

Cole's cool speeder car is now finished. Very good job!

Now, time for play. Will Hausner defeat Cole, or does Cole succeed in keeping hold of the prized Key-Tana because his cool speeder car simply is too fast for Hausner and his hoverboard? Whatever you choose, enjoy the play and your awesome build.
