LEGO 71453-A DreamZzz Izzie and Bunchu the Bunny Main Build

LEGO Audio & Braille Building Instructions for the LEGO DreamZzz set "Izzie and Bunchu the Bunny - Main Build".

Note that these are the instructions for the main build of the set including the Izzie and Grimspawn Minifigures and the larger-than-life Bunchu build. To plus up a fully built Bunchu with either roller skates and gloves or with stinger and wings, go back to the instructions website and navigate to the corresponding instructions.

A nightmare - Grimspawn has stolen Izzie's plushie bunny Bunchu and is on the run! Help Izzie dream-craft a large living version of Bunchu to get the toy animal back. Choose to give Bunchu roller skates and gloves or bee wings and a stinger to find and catch the evil spawnling and rescue Izzie's favorite plushie!

The box cover shows an action-packed scene in Izzie's Dream World; the scene is framed with the white silhouette of a cloud. Izzie and the larger-than-life version of Bunchu the bunny are jumping between floating pieces of grassy land in the blue sky. Bunchu has adjustable bunny ears, legs, feet, and arms, and its fur is different shades of bright blue, while some of Bunchu's features are pink and purple, for instance Bunchu's chest plate, the bunny's toes, cheeks, tail, and parts of the ears. On the box cover, Bunchu is wearing the golden gloves and roller skates with fire tails. Izzie is in her Dream World attire in shades of orange, purple, pink and blue. She has a large sword in her hand. The two are chasing after the nightmare Grimspawn that has snatched away Izzie's plushie! The Grimspawn is sitting on a dark floating piece of land with dangerous red clouds in the background. It wants to kidnap the plushie to the land of nightmares! Can Izzie and Bunchu stop the Grimspawn?

Open the box. This can be tricky; ask someone to help you!

The box contains booklets with visual building instructions, and 3 bags with numbers printed on them. We will use bags 1 and 2 for the current instruction. Bag 3 will be used later for plussing up Bunny after building the main build. Ask a sighted person to help you find the correct bags!

Open bag number 1 and any sub-bags in it. This bag contains all bricks and pieces for the Izzie Minifigure with her plushie Bunchu, the Grimspawn Minifigure, and the torso, the head and the ears of Bunchu the Bunny.

Before you start building, ask a sighted person to help you sort the pieces by color. This makes finding the correct pieces even easier!

First, we will build the Izzie Minifigure with her plushie Bunchu.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 flame yellowish orange, white and bright yellow upper part of the body,

and 1 medium azure blue and lavender pair of legs.

Put the upper body on the legs.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 lavender shoulder armor plate,

and 1 bright yellow Minifigure head.

Put the shoulder armor plate on the shoulders, the shoulder pads arching down.

Put the head on the body.

Find 1 pink, blue and lavender wavy hairpiece with high ponytail.

Put it on the head.

Next, we will build Izzie's hourglass.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 transparent and warm gold hourglass,

and 1 white round tile 1x1. (This piece is printed.)

Put the round tile on the knob of the hourglass.

The round tile has a black print with a white hourglass silhouette in the middle. This is the logo of the Night Bureau, an organization that defends the Dream World from dangers.

Izzie's hourglass is finished! You can put the bottom of the hourglass on one of Izzie's hands.

Find 1 warm gold and transparent blue sword.

Snap it into Izzie's other hand.

Find 1 medium azure blue bunny figurine.

This is Izzie's plushie Bunchu! It is azure blue and has pink belly fur. In the Waking World, Bunchu is merely Izzie's little plush toy. But in the Dream World, Izzie can dream-craft a large living version of Bunchu!

The Izzie Minifigure with her plushie Bunchu is finished! Great job! In this set, Izzie is in her Dream World appearance: she has long, curly hair which is a blend of light pink transitioning into a subtle blue hue, fashioned into a ponytail. She has black eyes with freckles on her face (one freckle actually is a small red star, and another one a pink heart!). She wears an orange shirt with white sleeves and purple and pink armor. A purple and pink belt bearing the Night Bureau's logo (an hourglass) is holding her orange waist coat in place, and underneath that she is wearing turquoise pants and lavender boots, adorned with intricate silver detailing. Her head is printed with two face prints: on one side, she shows us her cheekiest laugh with closed eyes. The other face shows an adventurous smile, her eyes wide open with excitement. She's looking forward to her dream adventures!

Next, we build the Grimspawn Minifigure.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black grimspawn body,

and 1 black Minifigure head.

Put the head on the body.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black knight's helmet with knob,

and 1 transparent raspberry red feather.

Put the knight's helmet on the head.

Insert the small shaft at the bottom of the feather into the knob on the helmet.

Find 1 medium nougat brown butterfly net with long handle.

Clamp the handle under the Grimspawn's armpit.

The Grimspawn is finished! Well done! It is completely black, with the exception of its silver-grey facial features and its grim yellow eyes. There is a nasty scar on its right cheek. Grimspawns are nightmare creatures that were created out of the imaginations of Dreamers. The butterfly net is the perfect size for catching innocent plushies. You better watch out!

Now, we will continue with Bunchu the Bunny. We will start with Bunchu's torso.

These half cylinder pieces will be Bunchu's cheeks! Aren't they cute?

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 medium azure blue curved plate 3x4x⅔ with 2 knobs, (This piece is printed)

and 1 medium azure blue flat tile 1x2. (This piece is printed too.)

Put the curved plate 3x4 vertically centered on the top knobs, its 2 knobs forming a column on the right edge.

This piece is printed with Bunchu's little pink bunny nose, his big black, white and lavender colored eyes, and a few pale pink freckles as well as pink eyebrows.

Put the flat tile 1x2 vertically on the 2 knobs of the previous piece. This tile is printed with Bunchu's mouth. His two front teeth are slightly sticking out, all bunny-like. If you are not sure about the correct orientation of the mouth print, ask a sighted person for help.

Bunchu's head is finished! Well done! To mount it, snap the large ball that is pointing to the right onto the large ball cup on the torso.

Great job! Bunchu the larger-than-life Bunny is taking shape! His ears are next!

Now, let's build the first of Bunchu's bunny ears.

The 2 ears are completely identical. You can either build the second ear alongside the instructions for the first ear, or you can jump back to the beginning of this section after building the first ear. We will remind you of that option after the first ear is finished. Your choice!

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 medium azure blue bottom angle plate 1x1 - 1x2 with 2 side knobs,

Find 1 salmon pink plate 1x1.

Put it underneath the left knob of the previous piece.

Mount this sub-part in the building orientation underneath the right half of the ear structure. "Right half" in this case does not include the ear tip mounted on the right edge since it does not have any connection points.

Next, let's make another sub-part for the ear.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 salmon pink one-stepped inverted curve tile 1x2,

and 1 salmon pink plate 1x1.

Put the inverted curve tile horizontally on the table, curve to the bottom, this time higher knob to the left.

Put the plate 1x1 on the right knob of the curve tile.

Mount this part underneath the ear structure to the left of the previous sub-part.

If done correctly, the bottom of the ear now has a smooth, symmetrically curved surface. Note that the top surface is smooth, too, but it's only curved towards the left, not the right.

The first of Bunchu's 2 bunny ears is finished! Great job! Before we mount it, build the second ear: jump back to the beginning of the section with the title "Next, we will build the first of Bunchu's bunny ears." and follow the steps again. If you have already built the second ear, continue with the instructions.

Before you mount the bunny ears, put them flat on the table. Turn 1 ear so that its ball cup is pointing to the right, and its symmetrically curved side is now facing the front.

Turn the other ear so that its ball cup is pointing to the right, too, but its symmetrically curved side is facing the back, mirroring the other ear.

Now, snap their ball cups onto the 2 balls on the head of the bunny (these balls are sticking out towards the left) .

The torso, head, and ears of Bunchu the Bunny are finished! You are doing great! Let's continue this building journey!

Open bag number 2. You can choose to have the bricks sorted by color again. This bag contains all bricks and pieces for Bunchu's legs and arms, his feet and his tail.

and 1 medium azure blue connecting tube 3x1x1 with 2 connector holes. (This piece is shaped like a thick tube with ventilation slits and an attached disk.)

Put the round joint on the table, top connector pointing to the top, side connector pointing to the right.

Hold the connecting tube horizontally so that its curved disk with hole is at the top, pointing to the right.

Insert the top connector of the joint from the bottom into the hole of the disk.

Find 1 bright red connector peg 3m with stopper ring and cross axle end. (3m means that this piece is about 3 knobs long.)

Insert the smooth connector end into the connecting tube coming from the left, cross axle end sticking out to the left.

Find 1 medium azure blue bent tube element, large. (Note that there are small, rather thin tube elements with a more distinct bend, and large, thicker tube elements. We are using the large, thicker tube elements for the legs.)

Hold it horizontally and turn it so that the outer curve is to the top.

Insert the cross axle from the previous step into the cross hole of the bent tube. Make sure the tube bends downwards towards the left.

Find 1 medium stone grey cross axle 1m with ball.

Insert it into the cross hole on the left end of the tube, ball sticking out towards the bottom.

The first leg is finished! If you haven't built the second leg yet, jump back to the beginning of the section with the title "Now, we will build Bunchu's legs. Let's start with one." and build the second leg, then continue with the instructions from here.

Before you mount them, take the main build and turn it so that the ears are pointing to the back and the end of the torso with joint sockets is pointing towards you.

To mount the first leg, insert its joint connector peg into the joint socket on the torso coming from the left.

Repeat symmetrically with the second leg on the right side. Make sure the curves of both legs are running downwards, not upwards.

When you've mounted both legs, rotate them towards you so that the balls sticking out at their ends are pointing to you.

Next, we will build Bunchu's first foot.

Note: You do not need to build the second foot alongside the first one. We give detailed instructions for both feet one after the other.

You have finished building Bunchu the Bunny, and with this the main build of this set! Fantastic work, very well done! If you want to, you can already start playing with Izzie, Bunchu, and the Grimspawn. However, there are two options to plus up Bunchu: You can build him wings and gloves, or roller skates and a stinger. To access the instructions for the two plus up options, navigate back to the instructions website and choose your path.

Enjoy!
