LEGO 60454 Holiday Adventure Camper Van

LEGO Audio & Braille Building Instructions for the LEGO City set "Holiday Adventure Camper Van".

If you would like to access the help menu to find out how to use and navigate these instructions, tap with two fingers or press key "H".

Enjoy traveling vacations aboard this luxurious camper van. Journey to mountains, lakes and national parks while relishing all the comforts of home. Enjoy the modern living space with a kitchen, toilet and beds for the whole family. Unload the outdoor furniture, grab your guitar and gather round a campfire for a fun sing-along. Then hop aboard and enjoy a scenic drive to your next destination!

On the box cover, a family sets up camp in the middle of a forest clearing as the sun sets behind distant snow-dusted mountains. Their camper van gleams in deep red with a striking airbrushed design on the side panel showing a mountain range in white with orange peaks. The distinctive curved roof that extends over the cab and the van's sunroof is open. The side door stands open, inviting us to take a peek inside. In front of the van, a cozy campfire flickers with bright orange flames surrounded by grey stones. The dad sits back in a chair, happily strumming his guitar, while the mom holds their smiling baby close. Towering pine trees frame the scene, and the glowing sky paints everything in warm holiday colors – the perfect setting for adventure and family fun. Let's start building!

Open the box. It contains visual building instructions, 4 numbered bags and 1 sticker sheet. We will refer to the bag numbers to guide you through the building process. Please ask a sighted person to help you identify the correct bags!

The sticker sheet has 7 stickers. Some of them have identical shapes, so if you would like to find and attach the stickers yourself, these are your options: You can try to feel the outlines of the stickers and search for the 3 biggest stickers in the set. These 3 stickers are 3x4 stickers and 2 of them are right next to each other while the third one is in a different corner. Turn the sticker sheet so that the 2 adjacent 3x4 stickers are on the top edge of the sticker sheet. If you prefer, you can also ask a sighted person to orientate the sticker sheet such that the bold black line is at the bottom edge of the sheet. We will refer to both the shape and the location of the sticker on the sticker sheet during the building process. However, of course you can also decide to skip the stickers in the building process for now or ask a sighted person to help you attach them if you like.

Carefully open bag number 1 and any small sub-bags in it. This bag contains all bricks and pieces for the campfire, the Mother Minifigure with guitar and the vehicle underbody.

If you like, you can ask a sighted person to help you sort the pieces by color before you start building. We recommend using trays or bowls. This can make finding the correct pieces easier! However, if you would like to build without brick colors entirely, you can also ignore them or turn them off. There are different ways to sort and organize the bricks and your building process. It is up to you!

First, we will build the campfire.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white flat tile 1x6,

and another transparent red round tile 1x1.

Put the flat tile 1x6 horizontally to the left of the previous piece.

Put the round tile 1x1 to the left of the previous piece.

Find another 2 white flat tiles 1x6.

Put 1 vertically in front of the previous piece, 5/6 overhanging to the front.

Repeat symmetrically on the right.

Find 2 white plates 2x16.

Before you mount them, turn the structure 90° to the left, meaning that now, the 2 flat tiles should be pointing to the right.

Turn 1 plate 2x16 horizontally and put its front row underneath the overhang of the front flat tile 1x6.

If done correctly, 11 columns will be protruding to the right and the back row will be protruding to the back.

Repeat symmetrically at the back with the other plate 2x16. This time, the front row will be protruding to the front.

Find 1 medium stone grey plate 4x6 with 12 knobs on 3 edges.

Put it vertically on the leftmost knobs of the structure, knobless edge to the right. This means it will sit nestled between the 3 flat tiles 1x6.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 medium stone grey plate 2x6,

and another medium stone grey plate 4x6 with 12 knobs on 3 edges.

Put the plate 4x6 vertically to the right of the previous piece, knobless edge to the left.

If done correctly, the 2 plates 4x6 form a knob frame together and their 2 knobless edges meet in the middle.

Put the plate 2x6 vertically to the right of the previous piece.

Find 1 mud brown frame plate 6x8 with 2 shaft holders.

Put it horizontally to the left of the previous piece, side with the 2 shaft holders on the left, 1 column overhanging to the right.

Find 1 white plate 2x8.

Put it vertically centered underneath the previous piece's overhang, 1 column protruding to the right.

Next, we will make 2 sub-parts of the roof.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white plate 1x4 with 2 knobs,

and 1 white one-stepped curve brick 1x10 with plate 1x2.

Put the plate 1x4 horizontally on the table.

Put the curve brick horizontally on top, its bottom step fitting neatly on the plate 1x4, curved part overhanging to the left.

Find another white plate 1x4 with 2 knobs and another white one-stepped curve brick 1x10 with plate 1x2.

Repeat the previous building step to build an identical sub-part.

Mount the first sub-part horizontally on the frontmost row directly to the right of the flat tile 1x6 mounted on that row, curve towards the left.

Repeat symmetrically at the back.

Find 2 transparent bright orange plates 1x1.

Put 1 to the right of the sub-part we have just mounted on the backmost row.

Repeat symmetrically at the front.

Collect the following 4 pieces:

2 white two-stepped curve tiles 1x4,

and 2 white flat tiles 1x1.

Put 1 two-stepped curve tile 1x4 horizontally on the frontmost row, starting from the right edge, curve to the right.

Put 1 flat tile 1x1 to the left of the previous piece.

Repeat symmetrically at the back with the 2 remaining pieces.

Collect the following 4 pieces:

2 white smooth roof tiles 1x2x⅔,

and 2 transparent smooth roof tiles 1x1x⅔.

Put 1 smooth roof tile 1x1 on the backmost knob of the rightmost column, slope to the right.

Put 1 smooth roof tile 1x2 vertically in front of the previous piece, slope to the right.

Put the other smooth roof tile 1x2 vertically in front of the previous piece, slope to the right.

Put the remaining smooth roof tile 1x1 in front of the previous piece, slope to the right.

Next up, we will assemble the sunroof.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 transparent glass 3x4 for window frame,

and 1 white sunroof frame 5x6x⅔ with cut-out.

Put the sunroof frame on the table, knobs forming a row at the back.

Snap the 2 small bumps on the window glass into the 2 notches at the back of the cut-out.

Fold the glass up or down as needed.

The sunroof is finished! Great job! Turn it 90° to the left so that the knobs form a column on the left edge. Mount it on the rightmost edge of the roof structure, meaning that it will sit directly to the left of the 4 roof tiles we have mounted in the previous step.

Find 1 white hood plate 4x6x⅔ with 2 angled corners and 4 knobs.

Put it vertically to the left of the previous piece, its 4 knobs forming a column on the right.

Find 2 black grille tiles 1x2.

Put 1 horizontally to the left of the previous piece on the third row of knobs from the back.

Put the other one horizontally in front of the previous piece. The 2 grille tiles should sit on the 2 middle rows of the roof.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white boomerang piece,

and 1 black half-circle plate 1x2 with 1 knob.

Put the half-circle plate 1x2 vertically centered on the leftmost column of knobs, half circle to the right.

Put the boomerang piece vertically on top, ends of the boomerang pointing slightly to the left.

Find 2 white inverted curve bricks 1x6.

Before you mount them, flip the roof structure upside down. Keep the horizontal orientation and make sure that the curved half is still on the right.

Put 1 inverted curve brick horizontally on the backmost row, starting from the right edge, narrow end to the right.

Repeat symmetrically at the front.

Next, we will build the front panel of the roof.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 beige plate 1x6,

and 1 white inverted one-stepped curve tile 2x2x⅔.

Put the plate 1x6 upside down and horizontally on the table. This means its knobs should touch the table.

Put the inverted curve tile on the 2 leftmost connection points, 1/2 overhanging to the front, curve to the front.

Find another 2 white inverted one-stepped curve tiles 2x2x⅔.

Put them to the right of the previous piece in the same orientation.

The front panel of the roof is finished! Mount it vertically on the rightmost edge of the roof, curves to the right.

The roof of the camper van is finished! Well done! Flip it right side up again, making sure that the curved half is still on the right.

Mount the roof on top of the camper van. Make sure that its left edge is flush with the left edge of the vehicle. The roof will only connect to a few knobs, so you can easily take it off and reattach it as you like.

Next, we will assemble the 4 wheels.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black wide rubber tire with super-low profile,

and 1 silver metallic rim with groove.

Put the rim into the tire.

Find another 3 black wide rubber tires with super-low profile and another 3 silver metallic rims with groove.

Assemble the remaining 3 tires like the first one.

Snap the 4 wheels on the 4 connectors of the vehicle, making sure that the rim sides with the tiny indentations are facing outward.

Find 4 black small saucers with hollow knob.

Put them on the 4 wheels as hubcaps.

The camper van is finished! Fantastic job, what an intricate but fun build! To put one of the grownups into the driver's seat, take off the roof of the van, fold the Minifigure's legs into a seated position and put the driver next to the steering wheel. The baby can actually travel on the passenger's seat: remove the carrier from the Father Minifigure but leave the baby in the carrier. Put the hole of the carrier's neck holder tab around the single knob to the left of the passenger seat. This way, the carrier acts as a booster seat! What a great way to travel safely! Reattach the roof as soon as everybody is seated.

Remember to use the side rail on the top right edge of the swing-out side panel to open and close it. You can put the camping table with chairs into the passenger compartment of the van when it is raining or when the family is traveling to the next location.

You have finished building the entire set! Congratulations! Now it is time to embark on cozy camping adventures. Pack your things, make sure the vehicle battery is charged and ride into the sunset. The next forest clearing is yours!

Enjoy!
