LEGO 60362 Car Wash

LEGO Audio & Braille Building Instructions for the LEGO City set "Car Wash".

Head over the LEGO City Car Wash. Drive through to activate the spinning washer brushes. Tip the dispenser to sprinkle the car with soapsuds. Then position the fans to dry your vehicle before driving round to top up your tire pressure at the pump. Washing your car has never been so much fun!

The box cover shows a busy scene in LEGO City on a sunny day. In the background, there are some skyscrapers and office buildings of LEGO City and a blue sky with plane trails and a few clouds. Featured in the center of the cover is the LEGO City Car Wash Station: it's a compact structure in white, light and dark blue; it has 2 side walls with large windows and a roof connecting them. The entrance and exit are open, but there are signal lights to let you know if you can enter or you need to wait. On the roof, there is a big "CAR WASH" sign with white and blue bubbles – you cannot miss it! Behind that, the drying fans and soap dispensers are mounted. The car wash has three flexible rotating brushes in light blue to accommodate vehicles of different sizes. On the right side of the car wash, the tire pressure pump with gauge is mounted. It is equipped with a grey pressure tank! The yellow and green car is currently being washed, the top and side brushes are in full swing and there are soap bubbles everywhere! To the left of the car wash, the car driver is having a chat with the car mechanic while she's waiting for the car wash to finish. Let's get going!

Open the box. This can be tricky; ask someone to help you!

The box contains 2 booklets with visual building instructions, 3 bags with numbers printed on them, and a small sheet with stickers. Ask a sighted person to help you find the correct bag!

Put the flat tile 1x6 horizontally between the 2 previous pieces.

Find 2 black roof tiles 2x2, 45°.

Put 1 in the front left corner of the structure, slope to the left.

Put the other one in the front right corner, slope to the right.

Next, we will build the drying fan holders.

Collect the following 4 pieces:

2 dark stone grey bricks 2x2 with side connector and top cross hole,

and 2 black plates 2x2 with 1 knob.

Put the 2 bricks next to each other on the table, connectors pointing to the front.

Put the 2 plates with 1 knob on top of the 2 bricks.

Find 2 dark stone grey round tiles 2x2 with middle hole. (These pieces are printed.)

Put them on top of the 2 previous pieces. These tiles are printed with grey cooling fans with 12 lamellas each.

The drying fan holders are finished! Well done! Mount one to the left of the last piece we have mounted (roof tile 2x2 in the front right corner) connector pointing to the front.

Repeat symmetrically on the left with the second drying fan holder, connector to the front.

Now, we will build the first of two soap dispensers.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 dark stone grey brick 2x2 with side connector and top cross hole,

and 1 black plate 2x2 with 1 knob.

Put the brick 2x2 on the table, connector pointing to the left.

Put the plate 2x2 on top.

Find 1 medium stone grey plate 2x4 with center bottom tube.

Hold it vertically, tube at the bottom, and insert the connector into the tube coming from the right.

Find 1 black grille tile 1x2.

Put it horizontally on the backmost row of the previous piece. Careful, the previous piece is movable, so this will be quite wobbly.

Find 2 medium azure blue panel elements 1x2x1 with panel on long side.

Put 1 vertically in front of the previous piece on the right column, panel to the right.

Put the other one vertically to the left of the previous piece, panel to the left.

Find 1 medium azure blue panel element 1x2x1 with back and side panels.

Put it horizontally on the frontmost row, longest panel to the front.

The first soap dispenser is finished! Well done! Mount it in the building orientation horizontally on the 2 frontmost rows, to the left of the right fan holder.

The soap dispenser is movable! We will fill it with soapsuds later. For now, make sure that the dispenser box is overhanging towards the front and tilted to the bottom.

Next, we will build the second soap dispenser.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 dark stone grey brick 2x2 with side connector and top cross hole,

and 1 black plate 2x2 with 1 knob.

Put the brick 2x2 on the table, connector to the right.

Put the plate 2x2 on top.

Find 1 medium stone grey plate 2x4 with center bottom tube.

Hold it vertically, tube to the bottom, and insert the connector of the brick 2x2 into the tube coming from the left.

Find 1 black grille tile 1x2.

Put it horizontally on the 2 backmost knobs of the previous piece.

Find 2 medium azure blue panel elements 1x2x1 with panel on long side.

Put 1 vertically in front of the previous piece on the left column, panel to the left.

Put the other one vertically to the right of the previous piece, panel to the right.

Find 1 medium azure blue panel element 1x2x1 with back and side panels.

Put it horizontally in front of the two previous pieces, longest panel to the front.

The second soap dispenser is finished! Well done! Mount it horizontally to the left of the first dispenser, dispenser box overhanging to the front.

Now, we assemble the drying fans.

Collect the following 4 pieces:

2 medium stone grey technic cylinders 4x4 with center bar,

and 2 bright yellow connector pegs 2m with middle ring.

Put 1 technic cylinder on the table. Make sure the rounded side of the center bar is towards the bottom.

Insert 1 connector peg from the top into the round hole in the middle of the center bar, one half sticking out towards the top.

Repeat with the other technic cylinder and the other connector peg.

Find 2 black propellers with 3 blades and round hole.

Put them on the 2 connector pegs of the previous step by inserting the connector pegs into the holes of the propellers.

The drying fans are finished! To mount them, flip them upside down so that the propellers are towards the bottom. Insert the connectors on the roof that are pointing to the front into the side holes of the drying fans.

Now, we will build the car wash sign.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 medium stone grey plate 2x12,

and 1 black plate 2x2 with 1 knob.

Put the plate 2x12 horizontally on the table.

Put the plate 2x2 on the four rightmost knobs.

Find 3 black plates 2x2 with 1 knob.

Put one to the left of the previous piece.

Put the other two next to each other on the left edge of the plate 2x12, mirroring the two previous pieces.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black plate 4x4 with 4 knobs on one edge,

and 1 rectangular sticker 3x4. (This is the larger sticker of the two available stickers.)

Put the plate 4x4 on the table, edge with for knobs to the front.

Put the rectangular sticker 3x4 on the smooth surface behind the 4 knobs. Ask a sighted person for help if you want to confirm the correct orientation of the sticker.

The sticker has the words "CAR WASH" in all caps on it. The letters are light blue with a white outline, and they are surrounded by white and light blue soap bubbles. Above the writing, there is a small image of a red car. The background of the sticker is black.

Mount this piece in the middle of the plate 2x12, edge with knobs to the front, 2 rows overhanging to the back.

Find 2 white round plates 2x2.

Put 1 on the knob to the left of the previous piece, and the other one on the knob to its right.

Find 2 white round tiles 3x3.

Put 1 to the right of the previous piece, making sure that it is overhanging a bit to the right and to the back but not protruding at the front edge.

Repeat symmetrically on the left, again making sure that it is overhanging a bit to the left and to the back but not at the front edge.

Find 2 aqua blue round tiles 2x2.

Put 1 on the 2 left knobs of the round plate 2x2 in the left half of the structure. If done correctly, the other half of this piece will rest on the previous piece.

Repeat symmetrically on the right.

Find 4 aqua blue round tiles 1x1.

Put 1 to the left of the previous piece on the front knob of the round plate 2x2.

Put 1 on the rightmost knob of the plate 4x4 with 4 knobs on one edge.

Put 1 on the second knob from the left on the plate 4x4 with 4 knobs on one edge.

Put the last one on the back knob of the plate 2x2 in the left half of the structure.

The car wash sign is finished! Great job! Before you mount it, turn the roof structure left to right so that the drying fans are pointing to the back.

Flip the car wash sign upright so that the plate 4x4 with sticker is pointing to the front and the straight edge is at the bottom. Mount it horizontally centered on the 2 sets of knobs 2x2 pointing to the front.

The roof of the car wash with drying fans and car wash sign are finished! Very well done, that was hard! Before mounting it, turn the car wash station left to right so that the side brushes and enter signal lights are at the front again.

Now, mount the roof horizontally centered on the car wash. Make sure the sign is at the front and the drying fans are at the back.

Find 4 white pieces with 3 ice cream scoops 1x1. (These pieces will be our soapsuds!)

Put them into the 2 soap dispensers on the roof. Before doing so, make sure that they are both tilted down so that the soapsuds don't fall out.

If you want, you can now mount the tire pressure pump with gauge on the right side wall of the car wash. Identify the 2 connectors peg on the pump that are sticking out towards the back; do not confuse them with the shaft sticking out towards the front (this is the pump needle) . Insert the connector pegs into two of the technic holes on the right side wall of the car wash.

You have finished building the entire set! Fantastic job! To give your car its first proper cleaning, make yourself acquainted with the spinning brushes, how they move and how they can be adjusted, and check out the soap dispensers and how to tilt them to shower the car with soapsuds. Once you know your way around the car wash, it's time for the car to approach the ramps, wait for the green light, and go!

Enjoy!
