LEGO 60322 Race Car

LEGO Audio & Braille Building Instructions for the LEGO City set "Race Car".

Head for the race circuit for turbo-speed action with the supercool Race Car. Grab your racing helmet, jump aboard and power away from the starting line. Time for a pit stop? No worries! Help the mechanic make a quick repair, then head back to the track for another record-breaking lap to take the winner’s trophy!

The box cover shows the orange race car with green airbrushing and the number 8 on the engine hood speeding around the race track. The driver is waving to his mechanic who is waiting on the side of the race track, wrench in hand, tool rack at the ready, waiting for the next pit stop. The LEGO City skyline is in the background of the scene, and the spectator stands surrounding the race track are packed with excited fans. In the middle of a lawn next to the race track the golden trophy with white pedestal is waiting for the winner. Ready, set, go!

Open the box. This can be tricky; ask someone to help you!

The box contains 1 booklet with visual building instructions, 1 bag with bricks, and 1 loose piece: a wagon bottom 6x10.

Carefully open the bag.

Before you start building, ask a sighted person to help you sort the pieces by color. This makes finding the correct pieces even easier!

First, we will build the mechanic Minifigure.

Careful: the legs and heads of the two Minifigures in this set have the exact same shape, but they have different colors and prints. If you want to make sure you have the correct piece, ask a sighted person for help. However, you can also just assemble the Minifigures without help, the visual differences are minor.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white, bright yellowish green and earth blue upper part of the body, (The two upper bodies are exactly the same, pick either one.)

and 1 white pair of legs. (The other legs are green.)

Put the upper body on top of the legs.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 bright yellow head, (This piece is printed with sunglasses)

and 1 dark orange and earth blue billed cap with ponytail.

Put the head on the body.

Put the billed cap on the head, ponytail to the back.

The mechanic Minifigure is finished! Well done! She has a cool smirk on her face and is wearing black aviator sunglasses. The mechanic is wearing white pants and a white work jacket with green sleeves and green patches in the shoulder and pocket areas. It has white Velcro strip fasteners. At the back, the jacket is decorated with a bold number 8. She looks like she can tackle just about any technical challenge!

Next, we build the race car driver Minifigure.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 bright yellowish green pair of legs,

and 1 white, bright yellowish green and earth blue upper part of the body.

Put the upper body on the legs.

Now, let's assemble the driver's helmet.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white safety helmet,

and 1 transparent brown helmet visor.

Snap the visor into the helmet. Use the little knobs on the inside of the visor and the small side notches on the cutout of the helmet.

Put the helment on the head.

The race car driver Minifigure is finished! Well done! He has a big smile on his face and a small dimple on his chin. He seems excited for his next race! His pants are green, and the jacket has the same colors and decorations as the mechanic's jacket.

Next, we will build the trophy.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white anvil piece 1x2 with 1 knob, (the bottom of this piece is 1x1 and the top 1x2. It has two small half arches to the left and right.)

and 1 white plate 2x2 with 1 knob.

Put the plate 2x2 on the table.

Put the anvil piece 1x2 horizontally on top.

Find 1 warm gold trophy piece with 2 handles.

Put it on the previous piece, trophy handles to the left and right.

The trophy is finished! Great job! The race driver is really keen on winning the next race. Do you think our team will make it?

Next up, we will build the race car.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black wagon bottom 6x10 with 4 pin connectors,

and 1 bright yellow one-stepped plate 2x2x⅔ with 2 side knobs.

Put the wagon bottom 6x10 horizontally on the table, pin connectors pointing to the front and back.

Put the one-stepped plate on the 4 rightmost knobs in the middle, side knobs pointing to the right.

Find 1 transparent red flat tile 1x2.

Flip this piece upright. Mount it upright horizontally on the 2 side knobs of the previous piece.

This is the rear light of the race car.

Find 2 bright blue grille tiles 1x2.

Put 1 vertically centered on the second column from the right. This is the lower part of the one-stepped plate 2x2.

Put the other one in the middle of the fourth column from the right. This column is on the lowest part of the wagon bottom.

Find 1 dark stone grey plate 2x4.

Put it vertically on the two rightmost columns.

Find 1 white roof tile 2x4, 45°.

Put it vertically to the left of the previous piece, slope to the left.

Find 1 black and white small steering wheel with plate 1x2.

Put it vertically in the middle of the fourth column from the left, steering wheel to the right.

Find 2 white small panel elements 1x4x1.

Skip the 2 leftmost columns, and put 1 horizontally on the second row from the back, panel to the back.

Repeat symmetrically at the front.

If done correctly, there is one empty row with 4 knobs at the front and at the back.

Find 2 bright orange smooth curve bricks 1x4x1⅓. (These pieces are printed.)

Put 1 horizontally on the frontmost row, curve to the front.

Repeat symmetrically at the back.

These orange pieces are printed with a white stripe at the bottom and a bright green stripe with diagonal incisions above that. On top of that, the word "TURBO" is printed in white upper case letters with a black background.

In the next step, we will build a separate part, so set the structure aside for a moment. But make sure to keep the structure in its current orientation.

Next, we will build the engine hood.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 bright orange curve brick 2x6 with 4 knobs, (This piece is printed)

and 1 white trapezoid plate 3x4 with cut-out.

Put the trapezoid plate horizontally on the table, cutout to the right, and knobs to the left.

Put the curve brick horizontally on top, curve to the left, three columns overhanging to the right.

This piece is printed with a white number 8 with black edging, and a background of one thick green stripe, two thinner green stripes, and two very thin green stripes.

The engine hood is finished! Fit it horizontally onto the rest of the structure, curve to the left: The 2x2 knobs should on the hood should be to the left of the steering wheel.

If done correctly, the left half of the engine hood is overhanging to the left.

That part was tricky! If you are not quite sure, jump back to the beginning of the engine hood instructions and give it another try.

Find 1 earth blue flat tile 2x3.

Put it horizontally on the two middle rows, starting from the right edge.

Find 3 silver metallic plates 1x4x⅔ with 2 diagonal top tubes.

Put 1 vertically on the rightmost column, top tubes pointing to the front and back.

Put 1 vertically to the left of the previous piece.

Put the last one vertically to the left of the previous piece.

Find 1 bright orange flat tile 2x3 with 2 vertical clasps.

Put it horizontally on top of the 3 previous pieces, clasps to the right.

Find 1 black spoiler element with bottom shaft.

Snap the shaft of the spoiler element into the 2 clasps of the previous piece. You can freely choose the orientation of the spoiler. We suggest to have the handle on the right and the top tile overhanging towards the left.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 medium stone grey flat tile 1x2, (This piece is printed)

and 1 black smooth roof tile 1x2x⅔.

Put the smooth roof tile vertically on the 2 leftmost knobs of the engine hood, slope to the left.

Put the flat tile 1x2 vertically to the right of the previous piece.

This piece is printed with the dashboard of the race car. It shows two dial indicators, namely a speedometer and a tachometer, as well as 2 LED indicators and a radio frequency bar.

Next, we will assemble 4 wheels.

Let's start with one wheel.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 silver metallic narrow rim with cross hole and spokes,

and 1 black narrow rubber tire with low profile.

Put the tire around the rim. They should fit neatly together.

Collect the following 6 pieces:

3 silver metallic narrow rims with cross hole and spokes,

and 3 black narrow rubber tires with low profile.

Assemble the remaining three tires just like the first one.

Now, snap the wheels onto the 4 pin connectors sticking out towards the front and back. Make sure that the spokes are facing outwards.

The race car is finished! Very well done! Now it's time to take it for a test drive: seat the driver or the mechanic behind the steering wheel and see how fast it can go!

Now, we will build the tool rack.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 dark stone grey plate 2x4,

and 1 bright yellow handrail 1x4x2 with 2 top holes.

Put the plate 2x4 horizontally on the table.

Put the handrail 1x4x2 horizontally on the back row.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 black hammer,

and 1 silver metallic wrench.

Insert the handle of the hammer top-to-bottom into the left knob of the handrail.

Insert the handle of the wrench into the right knob.

The tool rack is finished! Fantastic! Now the mechanic is ready for the next pit stop. She can fix just about any issue!

You have finished building the entire set! Great job! The trophy is waiting for your team. Set up a race track and go for gold! But with your state-of-the-art car, great driver, and skilled mechanic you have a great shot at winning that trophy!

Enjoy!
