LEGO 41389 Ice Cream Cart 

LEGO Audio & Braille Building Instructions for the LEGO Friends set "Ice Cream Cart".

This set comes with a pretty moped and an ice cream cart. It  has scoops, cones and popsicle tops for creative mix-and-match flavor fun.   LEGO® Friends Stephanie and her small dog Dash are also included.

On the box cover LEGO® Friends Stephanie is standing in the park of Heartlake City serving ice cream. Dash is sitting by the café table, waiting for Stephanie and looking forward to any drop of ice cream that falls on the ground. Stephanie´s moped is parked with her safety helmet hanging on the steering wheel.

Open the box. This can be tricky; ask someone to help you!

The box contains a booklet with visual building instructions and unnumbered bags. Ask a sighted person to help you open the bags.

In the very first part we will build the minidoll Stephanie and her safety helmet. We will look for Stephanie's dog Dash, as well!

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 light nougat brown and medium azure blue minidoll upper body,

and 1 light nougat brown pair of legs with earth blue skirt.

Stephanie is wearing a sleeveless shirt with a white collar and a yellow star on the belly.

Put the upper body on top of the legs.

Find 1 light nougat brown head .

Stephanie has blue eyes and smiles with rosy lips.

Put the head on top.

Find 1 lemon yellow medium long hairpiece with bangs.

Put it on top.

Find 1 transparent raspberry red pair of sunglasses with stick.

Put it horizontally on top of the hair piece.

Now you have built Stephanie. Well done!  

Now we will build a safety helmet for Stephanie. 

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white safety helmet,

and 1 transparent helmet visor.

Put the helmet visor on the front side of the safety helmet. The front side is where there is an open gap.

Now Stephanie can put on her helmet when she later will go for a ride on her scooter. You´ll have to remove the hairpiece to put on the helmet.

Now, find 1 reddish brown dog.

This is Dash.

Stephanie loves to play with Dash, and sometimes he manages to catch a drop of melting ice cream.

In the next part, we will build a café set with two chairs. 

Find 1 medium azure blue round plate 2x2 .

Find 1 white round brick 2x2 with top cross hole.

Put it on top of the round plate.

Find 1 bright yellow round plate 4x4 with middle hole.

Put it on top in the middle.

Find 1 medium nougat brown and printed round tile 1x1 .

Put it on one of the midmost knobs. The tile is decorated as a tasty cookie!

Well done! Now the café table is finished.

Next, we will build two café chairs.

Find 1 white round plate 2x2.

Find 1 medium azure blue round tile 2x2 .

Put it on top.

The first chair is finished! Place it next to the table.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white round plate 2x2,

and 1 medium azure blue round tile 2x2.

Put the tile on top of the plate. 

The second chair is finished and you can place it by the table.

Well done, the café table set is finished! What a nice spot to sit down and relax and enjoy a fresh scoop of ice cream.

Now, it is time to build the moped for Stephanie.

Find 1 medium azure blue moped top .

Put it horizontally on the table, front screen to the left.

Find 1 dark stone grey bucket handle. It will be used as the moped kickstand.

Hold the moped top upside down, front screen to the left. 

Now, clip the bucket handle onto the clasp in middle, handle ends to the right.

Flip the moped top right side up again, front screen remains on the left. 

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 white plate 1x2 with shaft on short side,

and 1 transparent yellow round tile 1x1.

Put the plate 1x2 horizontally on the right top of the moped, shaft to the right.

Mount the round tile 1x1 upright on the left side surface. This is the headlight!

Find 1 bright reddish violet plate 1x2.

Put it horizontally on the right row.

Find 1 medium stone grey handlebar.

Clip it into the clasp on the top left part of the moped, handles to the right.

Now, we will build a set of wheels.

Find 1 white hub for scooter tyre. It has 2 pointy sticks.

Find 1 black small rubber tyre .

Put the hub into the tyre.

Clip the pointy sticks of the tyre into the clasp at the bottom left part of the moped.

Now, collect the following 2 pieces for the second tyre:

1 white hub for scooter tyre. It has 2 pointy sticks,

and 1 black small rubber tyre.

Put the hub into the tyre.

Clip the pointy sticks of the tyre into the clasp at the bottom right part of the moped.

Now you finished building the moped, very well done! If you have not done it already, you can put the safety helmet on Stephanie's head. Please remember to first remove her hair. Now Stephanie is ready for a ride on her brand new moped.

In the next part we will build the ice cream cart.  

Find 1 white bow bottom 2x8x2.

Put it horizontally on the table, knobs to the top.

Find 2 medium azure blue plates 1x1 .

Put one on the back row of the lower part on the leftmost edge.

Repeat symmetrically on the right.

Find 1 medium azure blue plate 2x4 .

Put it horizontally in the middle between the previous pieces.

Find 2 medium stone grey plates 1x1 with vertical clasp.

Put them on the frontmost row to the left and right of the previous piece, clasps to the front.

Now we will build an overhang part of the cart. We will build 3 identical ones in total.

Find 1 white brick 1x2 with 2 side knobs.

Put it horizontally on the table, side knobs to the front.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 bright yellow smooth roof tile 1x1,

and 1 purple violet smooth roof tile 1x1.

Put the bright yellow roof tile 1x1 upright on the right side knob of the brick, slope to the bottom.

Mount the other roof tile 1x1 in the same orientation to the left.

Put the build horizontally on the back row on the leftmost edge of the lower part, slopes to the back.

Now, let´s repeat this build.

Find 1 white brick 1x2 with 2 side knobs.

Put it horizontally on the table, knobs to the front.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 bright yellow smooth roof tile 1x1,

and 1 purple violet smooth roof tile 1x1.

Put the bright yellow roof tile 1x1 upright on the right side knob of the brick, slope to the bottom.

Put the other roof tile in the same orientation to the left.

Put the build horizontally on the back row next to the previous build, slopes to the back.

Now, let´s build the third and last part of the overhang.

Find 1 white brick 1x2 with 2 side knobs.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 bright yellow smooth roof tile 1x1,

and 1 purple violet smooth roof tile 1x1.

Put the bright yellow roof tile 1x1 upright on the right side knob of the brick, slope to the bottom.

Mount the other roof tile in the same orientation to the left.

Put the build horizontally on the back row next to the previous build, slopes to the back.

Collect the following 3 pieces:

1 white plate 1x2 with side shaft,

and 2 white plates 1x1 with horizontal clasp.

Put the 1x2 plate vertically on the rightmost column on the high part of the structure, side shaft to the right.

Put the 2 plates 1x1 on the leftmost column on the high part of the structure, clasps to the left.

Find 2 white bricks 1x1.

Put one on the left and right edge of the frontmost row on the lower part of the structure.

Find 1 pale ocher yellow wall corner 1x1x1.

Turn it so that one side plate is on the left, and one side plate is at the front.

Put it left of the previous piece on the frontmost row on the right edge.

Collect the following 3 pieces:

2 medium azure blue plates 1x2,

and 1 medium azure blue plate 2x4.

Put one plate 1x2 horizontally on the frontmost row on the right edge of the higher part of the structure.

Repeat symmetrically on the left side.

Put the plate 2x4 horizontally on backmost row in the middle, overhanging slightly to the back.

Find 2 medium azure blue plates 2x2 with one 45° corner and 3 knobs.

Put one to the right of the previous piece, 45° corner to the back and to the right.

Repeat symmetrically on the left.

Collect the following 4 pieces:

1 silver metallic round tile 1x1. It is decorated as a coin.

1 pale ocher yellow round plate 2x2,

and 2 earth blue plates 1x2.

Now, start with putting one of the plates 1x2 vertically on the second column from the left, starting from the front.

Put the round plate 2x2 to the right of the previous piece.

Put the other plate 1x2 vertically on the second column from the right, starting from the front. 

Put the round tile 1x1 on the backmost row, second knob from the right. This coin can be used for buying ice cream.

Collect the following 4 pieces:

1 light purple decoration top 1x1,

1 aqua blue decoration top 1x1,

1 white decoration top 1x1,

and 1 reddish brown decoration top 1x1.

Put all 4 pieces on the round plate 2x2 on top of the structure, just next to each other.

These pieces are the 4 different scoop flavors - strawberry, chocolate, mint, and frozen yoghurt. Which one is your favorite?

Find 4 white flagpoles 1x1x3 .

Mount them on the two plates 1x2 on top of the structure.

Now, we will build the roof of the ice cream cart.

Find 1 bright yellow plate 1x6.

Put it horizontally on the table.

Find 2 pale ocher yellow rounded plates 1x2.

Put them vertically underneath on the left and right edge of the plate 1x6, spare knobs overhanging to the front.

Collect the following 3 pieces:

2 bright yellow curved tiles 1x2,

and 1 purple violet curved tile 1x2.

Put one bright yellow curved tile vertically on the rightmost knob, curve overhanging to the front.

Put the purple violet curved tile identically to the left, overhanging to the front.

Put the remaining bright yellow curved tile identically to the left.

Collect the following 3 pieces :

2 purple violet curved tiles 1x2,

and 1 bright yellow curved tile 1x2.

Put one purple violet curved tile vertically to the left, curve overhanging to the front.

Repeat this with the bright yellow curved tile and the remaining purple violet curved tile.

Now the roof for the ice cream cart is finished. Very good job!

Now, turn the cart left to right. This means that the 2 clasps are now on the right side, and the side handle on the left side.

Mount the roof horizontally on top of the 4 flagpoles.

Find 2 white skeleton arms . They are bent and have two identical clasps on their ends.

Clip one of them horizontally onto the front flagpole on the left, somewhere in the middle of the pole.

Clip the other one horizontally onto the flagpole at the back, a little lower this time.

Now we will build a popsicle.

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 pale ocher yellow round plate 1x1 with shaft,

and 1 lemon yellow flat tile 1x1 with ½ circle.

Put the tile on top of the plate with shaft, flat end towards the shaft.

Voila, this is now a popsicle, with banana flavor.

Clip the shaft of the popsicle onto one of the skeleton arms on the left poles.

Now we will build a second popsicle. 

Collect the following 2 pieces:

1 pale ocher yellow round plate 1x1 with shaft,

and 1 bright yellowish green flat tile 1x1 with ½ circle.

Put the tile on top of the plate with shaft, flat end towards the shaft.

This is a popsicle with pistachio.

Clip the shaft of the popsicle onto the remaining skeleton arm on the left pole.

Find 2 pale ocher yellow inverted cones 1x1 with shaft.

Clips the shafts of the cones into the side clasps on the right side of the structure.

Now we will make a sign for the ice cream cart. This will be tricky, since we will use a sticker. You might need some help.

Find 1 white flag 2x2 with 2 clasps.

Put it horizontally on the table, clasps to the left.

Now, find the sticker sheet . Maybe ask a sighted person to find and apply the stickers.

Find 1 square sticker number 1 . The sticker shows 2 scoops of ice cream in a cone with whipped cream on top. There is also a price tag printed on the sticker, with the number 2.

Mount the sticker on the flag, price tag in the right corner at the bottom.

Clip the flag upright onto the front flagpole on the right side, flag to the right.

Find 1 medium stone grey space skeleton arm . It is bent in the middle and has a clasp on each end.

Clip the skeleton arm horizontally onto the side handle on the left side of the structure, piece bending upwards.

This is actually the handle of the ice cream cart. It can be connected to the shaft on the back end of the moped.

Now we will build two prop stands for the ice cream cart.

Find 1 purple violet flower 1x1 .

Find 1 medium stone grey round plate 1x1 with top shaft.

Put it on top.

Find 1 medium stone grey tube 1x1 with shaft.

Put it on top.

Now you have built the first prop stand. Good job! Time to build the second one.

Collect the following 3 pieces:

1 purple violet flower 1x1,

1 medium stone grey round plate 1x1 with top shaft,

And 1 medium stone grey tube with shaft.

Put the round plate with shaft on top of the flower piece.

Put the tube with shaft on top of the previous piece.

Well done, you have now built the second prop stand.

Now, turn the ice cream cart left to right. The ice cream cones are now on the left side and the space skeleton arm is on the right side.

Clip the top shafts of the prop stands onto the clasps on the front side of the structure, and fold the prop stands down.

Your ice cream cart might be a bit unstable now. That´s okay, because we will now build two wheels that will stabilize the cart again.

Find 1 bright yellow steering wheel.

Find 1 bright reddish violet flower 1x1.

Put it on top in the middle.

Find 1 pale ocher yellow connector peg 2m with cross axle pin.

Turn the steering wheel upside down.

Insert the cross axle into the cross hole in the middle.

Mount the wheel upright by inserting the connector into the middle hole at the bottom on the front side of the structure.

Now we will build the second wheel.

Find 1 bright yellow steering wheel.

Find 1 bright reddish violet flower 1x1.

Put it on top.

Find 1 pale ocher yellow connector peg 2m with cross axle pin.

Turn the steering wheel upside down. 

Insert the cross axle into the cross hole in the middle.

Mount the wheel upright by inserting the connector into the middle hole at the bottom on the back side of the structure.

Now you have almost finished the ice cream cart. We only need one important thing.

Find 1 silver metallic kitchen spoon . You will use it for scooping ice cream!

Put the spoon into the 1x1 corner piece on the back row of the lower part of the structure on the left side.

You have now finished the whole model. Very good job!

Now, are you ready to play? You can help Stephanie serve ice creams for the Heartlake customers. At least Dash is more than ready for tasting the ice cream and popsicle flavors. Or you could put on Stephanie´s helmet and zip off to the beach for some fun! Put Dash on the seat with the 2 knobs. Stephanie´s legs are to be placed on each side of the thin partition on the lower part of the moped.
